Bighorn sheep is relatives with two other species of mountain goat, Siberian mountain goat and dall sheep, or stone sheep. In early ice ages, where earth is covered in ice, there is land bridge that connect Asia continent in Siberia with America continent in Alaska. This make Siberian mountain goat could migrate to America during Pleistocene period. Now, their ancestor inhabit wide range of west coast in America, ranging from Rocky mountain, coast of California, New Mexico and certain parts of Mexican peninsula.
