10 Benefits of Vitamins for Ruminating Mammals

Ruminants, or commonly referred to as ruminating mammals, can feed up to twice a day. This is because ruminating animals such as goats, cows, and sheep, have a similar digestive system to a human that requires nutrient more than once a day. Their digestive systems requires the role of teeth in order to breakdown solid particles for ruminating animals so that the vitamins and nutrients gets absorbed well.

Due to their complex digestive systems, ruminants depend on several nutrients in order to function and go through the day. If you’ve been raising ruminating mammals of your own, or are new to the game, be sure to read through this article to find out the benefits of vitamins for ruminating mammals.

1. Vitamin C

Similar to humans, ruminating mammals require vitamin c to maintain the health of their immune systems. For their daily supply of vitamin c, be sure to feed your ruminating mammals the right food; if required, you could purchase over-the-counter supplements. A healthy immune system is needed to combat potential illnesses and diseases.

2. Probiotics

Although Probiotics may not count as vitamins per se, ruminating mammals require a healthy dose daily to maintain their immune systems and combat fatigue from changing weathers and seasons. Similar to vitamin C, breeders should supply their ruminating mammals the right food to receive the correct dose of probiotics. You could also purchase over-the-counter supplements for an extra prescribed boost.

3. Gecko Tail

Yes, a gecko’s tail is clearly not a vitamin, but it is a crucial feed that breeders adopt to their mammals to receive the right amount of vitamins. One of the biggest advantages for this out-of-the-box feed is to warm up their bodies and maintain their healthy immune system. Of course there are other alternatives to this – that may be less squirmy to think about – but its definitely worth a shot to try!

4. Complexed Vitamin B

Complexed Vitamin B is a combination of several vitamins (such as vitamin c), that is needed to boost one’s energy and metabolism. Complex vitamin B is also required to maintain their overall health and helps them adjust to unhealthy environments. You could purchase an extra boost of vitamin B from over-the-counter supplements in your local animal shop.

5. Fish Oil

Rather than the type of vitamin and more to its medium, fish oil carries numerous rich vitamins that is useful to help ruminating mammals maintain the health of their immune system. Fish oil just also happens to be one of the most accessible forms of vitamin medication – which you could purchase in your local animal shops.

6. Bee Larva Vitamins

On a more exclusive end, bee larva vitamins are much harder to find on any conventional animal shops. However, bee larva vitamins contains multiple health benefits for ruminating mammals, that includes the following:

  • Rejuvenates fur and combats hair loss in mammals
  • Supports overall growth
  • Boosts appetite
  • Maintains the health of their immune system

7. Boiled Egg Vitamins

Some breeders have fed their mammals boiled eggs as extra vitamin supplements. Usually, the type of eggs breeders would feed are as follows:

  • Chicken Egg
  • Quail Egg
  • Duck Egg

However, most ruminating mammals do not like to consume eggs on their own, so most breeders would hide these in their feed. The rule of thumb usually follows a 75:25 ratio (25% being the eggs) and then gradually increases as your mammals adjusts. Alternatively, some breeders would inject mushed boiled eggs inside crickets for them to feed.

8. Small Shrimps

Another feed that is high in nutrient can be found in small shrimps. A typical dose of small shrimps often include the following nutrient: calories, protein, carbohydrate, healthy fat, calcium, phosphor, and iron. These nutrient hold multiple benefits such as:

  • Increases their sexual drive
  • Maintains health of immune system
  • Supports overall health

9. Ginger Vitamins

Last, and not least, ginger carries numerous nutrients that could help a ruminating mammal warm their bodies and maintain their overall health. Feeding ginger to your mammals can come in different forms – wether liquidise or mixed with their feed. You could purchase natural raw ginger from any local market.

10. Multivitamins

Last, and certainly not least, wise breeders would prescribe their farm with multivitamins. Though it is advised that you consult professionals to prescribe you with the right medicines, more supplements could be purchased at your local shop. Additionally, by tailoring a nutritional diet that contains the necessary vitamins you’d need could help them reach the ideal daily intake they’d need.

So this marks the end of the list of the benefits of vitamins for ruminating mammals. Do note that despite their similarities in their digestive systems, all ruminating mammals are not the same as they require different needs. If you need further help in the doses and types of vitamins your ruminating mammals needs, be sure to consult professionals and do more prior research beforehand.
