Rainforest is a cosy place for animals because it has big trees to protect them, and almost half kind of them are live there. The examples of rainforest in the world you can find it in the Amazon forest in Brazil, South America and Borneo forest in Indonesia.
It supports the largest diversity of flora and fauna in the world. It’s because of the warm climate with enough sunlight so plants and animals can grow.
While there are many things going on in the rainforest system, life is hard for most species due to the various characteristics of animals there either being hunted by other animals also by people.
There is a long List Of Wild Animals That Live in the Amazon Forest to give ideas what animals live in the rainforest. From tiger, orangutan, tapir, to birds, and insects. There are certain characteristics of animals in the rainforest bog or small. Here are some of them.
1. Herbivore
There is a lot of kind of fruit in the rainforest, that’s why animals like to eat it. There is a wide range of herbivore living in the rainforest. There are even many herbivores in the list of Wild Animals That Only Lives in Amazon.
Animals such as Orangutan likes to eat banana and ficus, while tapir eats fruits and leaves. Cockatoo loves banana and papaya, while elephant like to eat bananas and young coconut. They are herbivore and prefer to eat fruits or leaves, than other animals.
2. Carnivore
Not only herbivore, but carnivore animals also can be seen in the deep rainforest such as tiger and black panther. As a carnivore, they like to eat meats from other animals, such as bird or tapir.
They have sharp teeth in order to eat meat fast. Those teeth are used in biting and killing other animals, such as buffalo or orangutan. Tigers uses their teeth for tearing meat from bones.
Many of Carnivore which includes Animals of South America are extinct due to human hunting them down. Their body parts such as fur, heads and even teeth are unique souvenirs for human as a part of hunting rainforest down.
3. Loud Sounds
Other unique characteristics of animals in the rainforest are animals that have loud sounds. Tiger can roar loudly until 18 Hertz, birds chipping, and insects sounds are just some of the rainforest animals wonder that makes the forest full of sounds in one minute and full of noise in another.
People can find ways on how to train your lovebirds to sing. But, the birds in the tropical rainforest have their own unique sounds that make them even more appealing. These include hornbills, parrots, and toucans.
4. Bright Colours
Although most animals that fall into this category are birds there are also colorful insects and butterfly to make the rainforest even more diverse. Birds such as the scarlet macaw, hyacinth macaw, and red and green macaw are mostly more strikingly colour for males than females.
The toucan has a large and colorful beak and you can easily spot rhinoceros hornbill with white beak and shades of red and orange, black wings, and a black and white tail.
That is also the reason why they are endangered birds around the world because human hunt them for their fur and also preserve them due to their beautiful and bright color.
5. Reptile and Amphibians
There is a huge diversity of reptiles and amphibians in rainforest habitat from the high ground to the creek. These amphibians animals have a bright color like the green toads, tomato frog, and the bright blue poison arrow frog. The brighter the color the more dangerous the animals.
6. Primates
Rainforest is the home of many endangered primates. They includes gorillas, monkeys, orangutan, apes, chimps, with various uniqueness and form. They can be found in the deep forest of Indonesia or the wild Amazon Forest.
Asiatic primates typically have long arms include the macaques, leaf monkey, langurs, and Proboscis monkeys. While South America’s primate are smaller such as the douroucouli, sloth, monkeys, known for their ability to swing from trees.
People have been studying primates for years due to their resemblance to a human. People need to watch out for these innocent looking animals are deadly. They may look adorable and caring yet when they are provoked they are the worst animals to encounter
It is hard to point out a single characteristic of animals in the rainforest. They are the most diverse of all the other ecosystem. Besides being loud and colourful they also play a hard game of survival.
Where one animal is the predator and also the source food of other animals. It continues to enrich the rainforest with its sounds and color.
