Who doesn’t know Hawaii, a place where you can find beautiful beaches and resorts? All you see around are picturesque palm trees and sandy beaches. However, those aren’t the only things you can enjoy in Hawaii. There are some horrible animals that are dangerous in Hawaii too.

Hawaii islands are the most remote island on earth and as a result, there are a lot of animal species that cannot be found anywhere but there they are.

  • Centipede

Centipede might look small and harmless, but it might bite you! Hawaii islands are known to be home to three types of centipedes called Scolopendra, Lethobius and Mecistocephalus. These centipedes really love damp places, specifically kitchens and bathrooms. Centipede is also one of the dangerous animals in Thailand.

The number of the legs might not scare you, but the worse is they bite. The bite from this creature can last several seconds, and they commonly continue biting you until you throw them away.

The bite will give you a painful burning sensation spreading several inches. You should even head to the hospital if you have a sensitive skin or allergic reaction to it.

  • Shark

Hawaii serves you the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. This is one of the attraction of Hawaiian Islands to most of us humans to visit this place. However, it is not only us who get attracted to the warm water, but also sharks, which is one of the largest creatures in the ocean.

You might know Patrick, a starfish in Spongebob Squarepants series. He is a cute starfish. But, in Hawaii, you will find the opposite. Hawaii is a home of one of the largest starfishes in the world called Crowns of Thorns Starfish.

It is named that way because of the venomous spines covering its surface. The spines span from 10-14 inches and the spines look like upwards of twenty “arms”.

You will be in trouble if you touch one of the “arms” as they are sharp, stiff and able to penetrate through soft surfaces. Once you touch it you will get a very painful neurotoxins that will last for hours. It will cause persistent bleeding, nausea, vomiting and tissue swelling.

  • Snails

How a small animal like snail can becomes one of the dangerous animals in Hawaii? In Hawaii, even the small little animals should be suspected unless you will get your own risk!

Snails are known as the chill and slow animal among these slowest animals in the world, but the one in Hawaii, called the Cone Snail. This species is very attractive with its beautiful patterns and colors that would make everyone seeing it want to pick it up and put in the pocket.

However, don’t ever try to do that! This snail species is carnivorous and hunting by using their harpoon style teeth that are able to incapacitate the victims.

Getting stung by this species is similar to a painful bee sting. However, there are some other species that are highly venomous and could kill in a very short time!

  • Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake

Hawaii used to be able to claim that the islands had no snakes, because there’re some strict laws and regulations that keep them snake-free. However, surprisingly there is one of the most prolific sea snakes managing its way to Hawaii. This snake is named Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake.

Just like its name, this snake has a bicolor pattern with a brown back and yellow underbelly. This yellow belly moves really poorly on land, but prefers most of its life in the water.

Like other sea snakes, the Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake carries a highly potent venom which is very harmful to humans.
