Old, who is really knew about that? That’s absolutely the secret of God. And you know it’s like dupe. Let me clear. Actually there are no people who clearly know about something old except he counts it since the something exist. For example someone has baby and count the old, he surely know how old the baby are. But how with people who never met the baby before? They will just guess the old isn’t it? So does the finch. There are no people which surely count his old except they are together until the finch is dead.
May be you think that life in the wild is more free than keep at home. You logically may be said that the finch which living in the wild is living longer than being keeping at home. It’s not true either. Honestly finch is like other bird which can living for 2-3 years. But of course not every finch lives as this usual. Both living in the wild and keeping at home is not as guarantee neither. May finches which are live wildly, living longer than being pets at home or it may be the opposite. Even wearing ‘a good-survivor’ crown, well once again it is not a guarantee to make them live longer.

Wild life
Forest which is their natural habitat become decreasing. Many people does illegal logging for some reason which is make finch bird lost their natural habitat. Cut down and burn the forest is normal thing for people who just looking for money without thinking about the impact. Not only finch but together with animal which at the same living habitat with finch also feels the impact. Their home and their food lost together during machine which broke their habitat. This thing also contributed how finch killed. Not only died, finch which still able to life should being in trauma and become stress. This stress can also make them died.
One of all the reasons why people do illegal logging is land transfer function. They cut down or burn a million of tree in the forest for open up factory or settlement. They transfer the land which should be a forest become what their want. Well we know that to build city or just settlement we need a land to build the home, office, and another building. But we have to remind that in this universe, there are not only us which living. There are trees and animals. Why we didn’t divide with them? Are we as selfish as that? It should be dilemma but still as the most perfect creature of God, we still to protect them especially finches which feel impact the most.
Become best seller birdsong is not easy for finch. Many people who impressed by their ability makes market demand for this bird is increase. The seller should make it available as soon as possible to be trade. That’s makes them to hunt looking for this bird. This makes finch hunted everywhere. Unfortunately, finch is living as colony so it makes the hunter easier to catch them in dozens. Analogically, if you throw bait not only one will you get but it will be ten. The hunter is usually not threat them well. They are all placed in a small cage. That’s make stress and disease is easily spread out and cause them to die.
As mentioned before that unwell treatment that received by finch is caused disease spreading. Added by colony life, it surely makes the spreading become worse. This disease is such like flea, virus, bacteria, and etc. This disease attack finch and surely make them died, except the career knows and avoid id as soon as possible.
Some people hunt finches to be killed. It causes that finch ability to imitate other birdsong’s voice make them lost. They feel that they already investment a lot of money but their birdsong’s voice copied by other bird. They feel so unfair and choose to genocide them.
Being pet at home
Finches which can’t living longer as pet home usually died by stress. That’s so rarely founded the case finches dies because negligence from their owner. Usually owners are already calculates and prepare all the equipment while they put finch in their home. So it is almost impossible to let finch dies while they are being at pet. Here are some causes of finch stressed out:
- Your finch bird feels ruined by other animal exist
It can be your dog, cat, mice, and etc. So it is important to make a distance if you pet multiple animals in your home.
- Sometimes their cage is also makes them feel uncomfortable
It is matter for you to choose right cage that makes them living comfortable inside cage. Don’t need too big one, but the point is enough and makes them comfort.
- Perch changing is also makes them feel uncomfortable.
You better keep the same perch for them. Change their perch commonly is not right choice.
Even some finch bird can’t smell as mammal, their habitat is in the air. When the air is bad, they also ruined/
- Their cage is just painted so the paint smells ruining them
You better make the cage is free from paint smell before put them inside.
- Your finch is too often hanged in street which passed by vehicle, factory, and garbage disposal location
Situation uncomfortable like that can also ruining your finch bird moreover they have panic natural behavior. It must be harmful for them.
- Loud sound came from animal, fireworks, or machine tool also makes them panic and stress
Panic natural behavior will getting worse if they face these things. You better place it in calm place which not too noisy.
- Food changing which not suitable with them
Sometime you have to change the food with some reason. But whatever their food, make sure that it is clear and safe for them.
- Wrong technic while you hold your finch bird and makes them trauma
You better leave them in cage if you don’t know how to hold them. It will be so risky is you don’t know how to hold them but keep force it in your hands.
- Drink water which contaminated bacteria
The cleaning thing must be really your attention. Change their water as common as you can.
You may change their food with any reason. Whatever the reason, please make sure it is clear and safe for them.
- Your finch bird which rarely trained
Untrained finch bird makes them not getting used with you and it caused stress.
You don’t need pricey or big cage for your finch bird. The point is enough and makes them comfortable.
- Finch bird which leaving by their couple or leaving died
Well this is very harmful for them. If you find this symptom you better entertain them commonly to decrease their stress level.
You better leave your finch bird if you planned to have long journey. But if you forced to take it with you, better placed it in the point where anywhere is wind blow.
Don’t try to ignore them. If you don’t want to care them, then don’t pet an animal.
- Too often to hanged with fighter bird type
If you have multiple birds in your home, you better sort them as their type. Don’t make them one between birdsong and fighters, that’s not effective and makes them stress.
- Mastering too often using same sound of birdsong and the volume is louder than theirs
You need to wiser when you choose the master. Adjust between your finch ability and the master.
- You too often to hold them
Too often hold them is not right too. Just leave them in cage will makes them rest.
