We keep our cat inside for good reason. They sometimes make attempts to escape. You do not know how cats behaviours without their owners at home so many cat owner make great efforts to make their cat feel at home and never want to go outdoor.

Pet cats naturally unable to handle the sensory of being outside, so often times they instinctively will come back inside as soon as possible. Yet, occasionally there are some door dashers that escape and never make it back home again.

Of course, the best way to handle out pet needs to escape is to understand the reasons behind it. That way cat owners can find the best way to deal with the urge to explore and meet its need halfway.

Why Cats Try to Escape?

Cats are a natural hunter and even they have their meal all prepare for them there have the urge to guard their territory, make their area and wander around.

So be an alarm to any signs of signs of cats that wants to play or escapes. Here are some of the examples of the reasons why your cat try to escape from your home.

1. Reproduction

This is the most common issue with pet cats. They stay indoor and certain occasion whenever they are in heat, your cats will be restless and most likely disappear for days. Some felines can be restless for hours.

So, the owner either make their cat infertile or try to find a suitable mating partner. This is a common thing among cat lover that wish to take good care of their cat or want to have little kittens.

In certain case, runaway luxurious cats such as Persian or Angora can mate with domestic cats. Mating domestic and Persian cats together are the reproductive solution if the pet owner is unable to find a mating partner in the same species which resulted in another breed of cats.

2. Sense of territory

Ever seen your cat peeing in a certain part of the house? Cats can be very egoistic with their home. It is also another reason for your feline to marking its area surrounding your house and even the neighbourhood.

There are some ways how to stop your cat marking territory at your house that you can try at home yourself. The so-called “home perimeter” can always be enlarging. So the question is whether or not it can be done to prevent your cat from running away.

3. Hunting

It is the cat nature to hunt, prey and chase other small animals. These are the nature that also causes of kitten to meow constantly. Pet owner needs to have an understanding of how their furry friend communicates and try to say something.

Maybe if you give cat plenty of toys to play with. They will be happy and occupied. Chasing balls, climbing cat trees and other cat play tools can make them forget their animal instinct to hunt and burn some calories and keep them busy at home.

4. Owner Relocating

Cats make a great pet because they like routine and habit. It is one of the main reasons why you should spay your cat. They love repetitive and dislike changes. So, it only makes sense if they will run away when there is something different in their life like their bed, litter box and even moving out.

When you are relocating and decide to bring your cat along, beware of a situation where your cat is not comfortable with its new home. It is something that you can only deal with care and lots of love.

Other cats take more time to get used to the new environment. So, make sure you keep an eye for them in the beginning of the moving to make sure they are set in just like their owner.

5. Double identity

Living in a neighbourhood is a safe and also comfortable choice for many people. Having neighbour does have its perks. When you have plants or pets and your neighbour is ok with them, you can ask them to water your plant or take care of your pets from time to time.

Your cat can also find a second home in your next-door neighbour. They can disappear from time to time from sleeping in other places or eating in another home. Now, that is something to be a worry about. They may try to escapes and never coming back.

Encourage your cat to wander around with basic training techniques. You can clap your hand when they want to go out when the door is slightly ajar or make noise when they attempt to club up the window.

Most importantly, make sure they have enough food and attention and will not be tempted to go outside and seek other owners.

The idea is to make sure your cat is happy living as your pet. There is some instinct to tackle and situation to handle. There are even signs of depressed cat that needs your attention.

Being a pet owner is more than feeding and playing. Is also making sure your pet is safe and comfortable around you and never want to dash out when seeing a door slightly open.
